Alexandra Payne, non-fiction trade publisher at UQP, was a 2016 recipient of the Copyright Agency’s Publisher Fellowship. The fellowship supports individuals in researching projects that enhance their chosen field as well as the Australian publishing industry. Alexandra Payne travelled to the United Kingdom to attend publishing conferences and interview publishers, exploring how the practice of the contemporary publisher will evolve in response to ongoing digital disruption. Her resulting report investigates how trade publishers innovate in a time of digital evolution, and what forms that innovation takes.
