For general trade statistics, visit the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) website. The ABS has conducted regular surveys of the publishing industry since 1994. Providing an overview of the entire book publishing industry, their surveys and accompanying media reports can be sourced from their website.

For members, the APA provides annual overall sales figures for trade books and monthly figures for primary, secondary, tertiary and academic educational publishing. Industry research reports and educational statistics (members only) are also available online.
