We have two membership categories, full member or associate member.
The Association's Constitution defines the categories of membership as follows:
A person, registered company, corporation or incorporated association whose principal activity is the publishing of books, journals, educational material or periodicals in any format in Australia, and excludes bookselling activity.
Membership fees are based on the annual turnover of the company for the previous financial year. View the membership fee table.
a) a person engaged in a publishing activity that is not eligible for full membership
b) a person engaged in a publishing activity that is a government or government funded organisation which is precluded from casting or does not wish to cast a vote in a trade organisation
c) a person engaged in a publishing activity that is part of the same financial group as a full member provided that the full member is that entity of the financial group with the largest turnover
d) otherwise deemed by the Board to be suitable for associate membership
e) a person engaged in a publishing activity whose financial group includes a bookseller but where the turnover of the person generated from its bookselling activity is greater than that generated from its publishing activity
Associate membership falls into 3 categories:
Associate Member - Band 1 (Individuals and small publishing companies with a turnover of less than $100,000 per annum - $190 exc GST per annum)
Associate Member - Band 2 (Companies with an annual turnover between $100,000 and $10,000000: $490 exc GST per annum)
Associate Member - Band 3 (Companies with an annual turnover above $10,000000, $2000 exc GST per annum)
