For specific statistics from 2000 onwards, we recommend contacting Nielsen BookScan. Nielsen BookScan is Australia’s leading book sales data monitor. As many pre-2000 studies were collated independently, there is no one source for these figures. We suggest you search your State Library’s newspaper and publishing trade journal archives for statistics featured in articles relating to your area of interest. 

For Members – the APA provides sales data for Trade Books, Schools and Tertiary Educational Publishing (for data contributing members) and an Annual Industry Benchmark Study.
