Workshop - Thema

This half-day  course introduces Thema, the international, multilingual subject category scheme, its origin and benefits, and demonstrates how it should be used across the global book supply chain.

Delegates will learn the principles behind Thema and its use, and how to go about adopting it within their organisation. The course includes a practical session categorising real-world books and a discussion of best practices to optimise in-store and online discovery and conversion.

This comprehensive course is suitable for delegates with no prior knowledge of subject categorisation or of Thema, but is also of value to those who are already familiar with category schemes such as BISAC, BIC (or even Thema!). It is aimed particularly at staff in editorial, IT, marketing, or within online or physical retail.
