Indies Roadshow visits bookstores and living rooms

18/09/2020

Without moving anywhere, our inaugural #AustraliaReadsIndies Roadshow visited bookstores, libraries and living rooms across Australia and beyond in order to highlight the breadth and depth of Australian independent publishing.

An initiative of the Independent Publishers Committee, the Indies Roadshow was a way of connecting our publishers with booksellers, librarians and the general public to showcase indie publishing and the books to look forward to in the next six months.

It has now been been viewed by over 600 people, with great engagement on the livestream and many positive comments coming in across the board:

'What a wonderful and tightly produced online premier of new literature and I must say I was drinking this in as we are in such challenging times in ISO Stage 4 where book launches are no longer happening in face to face situations!'
- Teacher Librarian, Hillcrest College

'Many congratulations on a grand presentation. Just the tonic we needed to keep going.'
- Bookseller, Eltham Bookshop

'I really enjoyed watching the Australia Reads Indies Roadshow presentation yesterday! If possible, I'd love to see an equivalent  show exclusively dedicated to Children's and YA some time in the future.'
