December on TitlePage reflected the power of word-of-mouth discovery, seasonal reading habits and the sustained appeal of established favourites. The Correspondent by Virginia Evans emerged as the most searched for, viewed and downloaded title, becoming one of the year’s breakout hits – demonstrating how book recommendations and organic reader engagement can quietly drive a book to success. Engagement in December was further shaped by media adaptations, with Heated Rivalry experiencing a significant surge following its TV adaptation, bringing the MM romance title and Game Changers book series into the mainstream. Its author Rachel Reid also emerged as the most searched-for author this month, underscoring the crossover impact of screen exposure.
As the New Year approached, engagement with practical non-fiction rose, with titles such as The Little Book of Common Sense Investing seeing renewed interest, likely driven by financial planning and end-of-year goal setting. Interest in manga also increased this month with Jujutsu Kaisen artist Gege Akutami ranking among the most searched for contributors. Titles and authors who continued their momentum from November, include Arnott’s: The Cookbook, as well as enduring favourite Stephen King, whose solid backlist encourages engagement across reading trends and cycles. Great Writers and the Cats Who Owned Them by Susannah Fullerton also made a repeat appearance as a popular feel-good gift for the holiday season.
Overall, December was marked by an audience driven by recommendation culture, screen adaptations and a return to perennial favourites.
