Australia Reads is a collaborative book industry initiative which champions the benefits of reading to all Australians. We believe reading is the key to a smarter, healthier, happier nation.

Starting out as the Australian Reading Hour in 2012, Australia Reads has grown into a year-long campaign underpinned by the message: More Books, More Often.

The APA is one of four partner organisations behind Australia Reads, through the Books Create Australia initiative. We are driven by our common passion for championing reading, promoting the many mental health, wellbeing and lifestyle benefits of reading books, and encouraging the next generation of readers.

APA members benefit from opportunities to showcase their books and authors in affiliated Australia Reads events and initiatives, such as the Ambassadors program and Australia Reading Hour events.
